According to the Russian media, a bloc of post Soviet nations led by Russia has decided to create rapid-reaction military force in order to act in response to regional emergencies and also to fight against terrorism. The officials said that the agreement was signed by all the members.

Reports of a multimillion-aid package to Kyrgyzstan from Russia had come up before this announcement of agreement. The force is meant to conduct anti-terror operations and fight regional drug trafficking and act in reaction to natural disasters in addition to anti-terror and regional problems. The force is planned to base in Russia itself and military units in its member nations too.
